Graham Fire & Rescue Celebrates 36-Year Commissioner for Lifelong Dedication

At a Special Meeting of its Board of Fire Commissioners on December 20th, Graham Fire & Rescue took a historic opportunity to honor Gerry Gustafson – a Fire Commissioner whose unwavering dedication has spanned an impressive 36 years.

Commissioner Gustafson began his journey with Graham Fire & Rescue as a volunteer firefighter in 1964. In 1999, after a break in service, he was elected to his first term as Fire Commissioner and has dedicatedly served in that capacity since.

Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the district, navigating change, and fostering a culture of excellence.

A private celebration attended by past and present firefighters and colleagues was held before the Special Meeting. Attendees expressed appreciation for Commissioner Gustafson’s tireless efforts and leadership, and shared reflections on how the district and community have changed over the decades.

Graham Fire & Rescue expresses its deepest gratitude for 36 years of selfless service and wishes Commissioner Gustafson all the best in the next chapter of life.
